Frank Shostack is an experienced Toronto Wills and Estates lawyer. He received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1970. Frank subsequently obtained his Master of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in corporate law and tax planning.

Frank practices in the areas of Business and Corporate Law, Tax Law, Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, advising clients on matters pertaining to corporate finance, corporate tax planning, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, divestitures, intellectual property, licensing and other contract negotiations, shareholder and business disputes, and corporate governance. Because of his training in operations management and business strategy, Frank has been able to assist his entrepreneurial clients with their strategic planning efforts, as they build and grow their businesses.

A significant part of Frank’s involvement in tax planning has been in advising owners of private businesses and high net worth individuals about structuring their businesses and investment holdings – in a practical and tax-efficient manner and to focus on effective succession planning to maximize the after-tax proceeds that would be achievable on a sale of the business, or in an intra-family sale or wealth transfer. This generally involves complex wills and trusts to achieve client objectives.

Through his commitment to quality and his dedication to his clients, Frank has established many long-standing client relationships and solidified his reputation as a practical legal and business adviser.
