Family Lawyer, Mason Morningstar, regularly deals with high-conflict matters in court relating to property division, divorce, child and spousal support, custody and parenting time, and child protection issues.
Mason is an exceptional writer with an analytical mind, who empathizes with his clients’ circumstances. He prides himself on listening closely to each client’s story and crafting individual strategies to obtain what is most important to them. When required, this translates into tenacious court advocacy. As a family lawyer, Mason has been commended by judges and colleagues for his professionalism and able legal analysis and has obtained more than favourable results for his clients.
Mason graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with a Juris Doctor in 2017 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2018. During his time at Osgoode, Mason volunteered with the Family Law Project, where he assisted hundreds of low-income clients draft court materials and navigate the litigation process. Additionally, Mason competed in the competitive Walsh Family Law Moot, where he and his fellow teammate won the best factum award.
Before joining DSF, he articled and subsequently worked with a boutique family law firm in Toronto, practicing in the areas of both domestic family law and child protection. Mason regularly appears before the Ontario Courts of Justice and Superior Courts of Justice.
Outside the office, Mason plays guitar, pool, and enjoys sampling local craft beers.
